May 01, 2015  · There was no significant difference in pregnancy rates when stratified by morphology: 0-2% (16.7%, 126 cycles), 3-4% (17.2%, 180 cycles), 5-6% (16.4%, 126 cycles), and 7-10% (14.2%, 183 cycles). A: Morphology is basically about the shape of the sperm. If the sperm is misshaped, what happens is it can’t penetrate the egg as effectively as it would otherwise, and so conception becomes compromised. So making sure that the man is as healthy as possible can only improve and optimize the odds of you being able to conceive.

Embryology has told me that eggs have all looked perfect but the sperm morphology is their biggest concern. The last SA done in September right after our 2nd IVF cycle on the day of our fresh transfer showed some pretty concerning results. Volume was 0.1, count was 75 million, progressive motility was 21%, normal morphology was 1%, amorphous 99%.

IVF can be similar to a medicated and monitored IUI cycle but with the addition of the egg retrieval, growth in vitro, and transfer. The woman is heavily medicated to a) produce lots of eggs, b) suppress ovulation until the clinic is ready, and c) trigger ovulation (expected to happen about 36 hours after a shot and carefully timed right to the.

IVF with ICSI involves the use of specialized micromanipulation tools and equipment and inverted microscopes that enable embryologists to select and pick up individual sperm in.

Apr 04, 2019  · It is extremely important to assess a second sample as sometimes, the second sample can contain motile sperm (even when the first one does not). Any infection present must be treated with antibiotics. If no cause is found or no treatment is available, the only option is to carefully select sperm that can be used for ICSI.

For 11 weeks already. I had a hard time getting pregnant. I had low ovarian reserve and my amh was very low 0.2. Ive tried one round of IVF with only one egg matured (on the highest dose of fertility drugs). They lost the egg during the punction and I because of the bad results I was not allowed to do another round of IVF.

Even though there is a definite trend between normal appearing sperm and fertility potential, this, however, does not mean that a male with a semen analysis result of 0% normal shaped sperm cannot father a child, as we only assess 400 sperm in what often are millions!

We have our first fertility appointment on 26th and think ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is what we’ll be offered with 0% morphology too. From what I have managed to find, they should still be able to use his sperm as they only take a fraction of the sample to look at, so they only need find a couple of good ones to use.

Aug 06, 2013  · The IVF road is confusing isn’t it! Poor sperm morphology etc is associated with a higher rate of miscarriage for many reasons, it can be indicative of genetic issues, bad looking sperm can still fertilise eggs but embryos don’t always develop normally etc.

Welcome to Reddit, His SA was generally normal, all except for 0% morphology. Of course, our RE says that may or may not be a factor in our IF. I have a somewhat diminished ovarian reserve, AMH of 1.9. Our RE didn’t seem particularly concerned with that either, and recommended the standard 3 IUI treatment plan before moving to IVF.

Mar 13, 2019  · In other words, in patients with low morphology, it is okay to try IUI and is not necessary to recommend IVF + intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) based on low morphology alone. To see a fertility specialist who can not only diagnose low sperm morphology but devise the best fertility plan for you following diagnosis, make an appointment at one of InVia’s four Chicago area fertility clinics.

Jul 04, 2019  · Latest Articles. When most patients go to a doctor, they expect that the doctor will prescribe a medicine and treat their problem. Since most people still believe there is a "pill for every ill", they expect that the doctor will give them a medicine ( or an injection) which will improve their sperm morphology.

Hi, your ability to conceive is decreased with a 0% morphology. It means that all of his sperm has an abnormal shape and size which makes it harder to fertilize the egg. I read somewhere that a normal sample should have at least 15% of normal forms. I don’t really know how this is corrected or if it can be. Good luck to you newby.

You will most likely be referred for IVF (in vitro fertilization) (ICSI) which is basically the same as standard IVF (in vitro fertilization) except they inject the sperm directly into the egg to fertilise. We have our first fertility appointment on 26th and think ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is what we’ll be offered with 0% morphology too.

Dh’s always had 0-1% morphology (normal count and motility was usually ~45%) We haven’t used birth control since 2008 and have only conceived with IVF with ICSI. DH rarely drinks, has never smoked, takes vitamins, etc.

Jan 25, 2007  · We are candidates for IVF/ICSI. HOWEVER, Doc said 1% morphology is the most critical, that means that DH’s DNA fragmentation (SCSA test) might be.
